Golden Slumbers...

sometimes i wish that i was peter pan. i wish that i had never grown up to find that the world was such a mess. i really miss that one thing from my childhood, naivety. i really would rather not have ever seen the third world, but now the images of starving children are forever engrained in my mind. it shouldn't be that way.

once there was a way to get back homeward,
once there was a way to get back home...
sleep pretty darling, do not cry, and i will sing a lullaby.
golden slumbers fill your eye,
smile I'll wake you when you rise.
sleep pretty darling, do not cry, and i'll will sing a lullaby.
once there was a way to get back homeward.
once there was a way to get back home.
sleep pretty darling, do not cry, and i will sing a lullaby.

Boy, you're gonna carry that weight;
Carry that weight a long time.

It's always easier going through life with your eyes closed. I can't imagine the horrors you've seen, but I also envy the experiences you have gained by truly seeing the world. You have the unique opportunity of first-hand knowledge. I know you may not have wanted it, but I know you can handle it (carry that weight). I love you and I'm proud to have you as a friend. I can't wait to hear your stories and share laughs and even tears. Miss you buddy.

We all depend on the kindess and benevolence of others and we all carry scars to remind us not to live purely with our own interests in mind and to remind us of our potential for wicked behavior. "Leave no room for selfish ambition and vanity, but humbly reckon others better than yourself. Look to each others interest and not merely to your own. Take to heart among yourselves what you find in Christ Jesus: 'He was in the form of God; yet he laid no claim to equality with God, but made himself nothing, assuming the form of a slave. Bearing the human likeness, sharing the human lot, he humbled himself and was obedient, even to the point of death, death on a cross!...'" Phil. 2:3-8 I am confident that God will close any open wounds and put your scars to good use. I love you and I am proud of you. Pode

It has been a while since I read your blog...It seems life sometimes gets ahold of you and you can never find enough time in the day to get everything done. I want you to know that Jason and I care deeply for you and pray for you daily. Can't wait to see your smiling face and hear some movie lines. I cannot imagine the horrors you have endured, but like you I have gone through some life experiences that have taken me to the breaking point. I can only suggest that you turn to the Lord...Dad gives a great verse and remember that the things you are doing are for a greater good. Also, you must find a good christian counselor, it was one of the only things that got me back on track! Know that there are a ton of people here for you, whatever you might need. I love you soooooo much and miss you.

Cody has started crawling and cruising on the couches...He is getting so big.
