You are now entering the Tail Spin Zone!!

we are currently restructuring in my office, and as a result, i am working fewer hours. what a deal. usually the boss is always looking for more ways to get a few more hours out of you, but in this case, the boss is trying to send me home early-Nice!!
I have heard the latest report from my mother-my nephews are doing great, cody is gaining weight and looking downright pudgy. Noah is exploring more and more-leah please send more pictures...
things are busy and uncertain here in iraq-we are all trying to complete our mission-all we need now is the cooperation of a congress seeking to prove itself. politics are a part of daily life out here, and yet they seem so distant. Washington has never seemed so far away.
Anyway-i have to go get ready to go to work and fight the good fight.
Andrew

Hey buddy! I was so good to talk with you. Grandfather was SO happy to talk to you. He will be transferred to UCLA as soon as a bed is available. They will do a lung biopsy (possibly lung cancer) and then a heart patch so that the oxygen can get to the lungs as needed. I'll keep you posted. When I was talking to Dad while I was on the plane taxi-ing to the gate I mentioned that you wanted Hot Tamales. The young man seated next to me mentioned that now he was hungry--he wanted Hot Tamales, too. Funny. ILY MO

OH GEEZE ANDREW. IM SO GLAD THAT YOU GOT TO GET BACK TO ME. I UNDERSTAND IF YOU CAN'T CALL, BUT I HAVE BEEN THINKING ABOUT YOU ALOT...EVEN DREAMING ABOUT YOU...WEIRD HUH? THE LAST ONE WAS THAT YOU WERE IN IRAQ AND I DIDN'T KNOW ONE WAY OR ANOTHER IF YOU WERE. I'M ECSTATIC TO HEAR THAT YOU ARE OK!!! I HAVE A LITTLE BOY. (TRUST YOU ME, HE WAS NOT PLANNED) HE IS 3.5 MONTHS OLD, ALREADY HAS TWO TEETH, IS MOVING AROUND LIKE CRAZY AND IS ABSOLUTELY THE BEST THING THAT HAS EVER HAPPENED TO JASON AND I!! YOU CAN SEE PICS ON MYSPACE. I REALLY HAVEN'T UPDATED THEM IN A WHILE. PLEASE CALL ME THE NEXT TIME THAT YOU ARE HOME. I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO SEE YOU AND TALK ABOUT OLD TIMES, NEW TIMES AND ALL OF THE ONES IN BETWEEN! :) GOOD LUCK WITH EVERYTHING. LOVE YOU AND GOD BLESS.

Hey bud! I sent you an e-mail but I will post here also since I do not know which you will see first. Grandfather was transfered to UCLA but before they could do the biopsy he went into acute repiratory failure. The doctors have him on a ventilator to see if he will stabilize. If he does not respond by early next week they will remove him from the ventilator and let him die. We love you and will keep you posted.

Drew,
It sounds like you are well into the burn and feeling it nice and hot...at least each day done is one less day in country. Just now that nothing in your life will suck to the level that you currently endure...everything going fwd will be easier :) I always feel that I have a leg up on everyone around me as they are complaining about their hopeless lives. I think it is not as bad as Iraq and put a smile on my face. One thought that often comforted me when I was trying to make it to tomorrow (in Iraq) was John McCain and others like him who understood the true meaning of God, Country, Service as they faced imprisonment by unjust captors and lived to service another day. If John McCain can do it so can you...plus you are better looking.
I say enough talk of burning skin and more talk of baseball...let's keep thing focused on the meaningless so that you can stay on this side of sanity. There will be plenty of years for "healing" once you are home.
Just a few thoughts from across the pond. I will send pictures and Easter decorations this weekend.
